FOR PARENTS:
Q: Why are some of the camp listings clickable, allowing me to see more information, and others are not?
We want to provide a comprehensive resource for parents to be able to discover and schedule their kids’ camp options. As with the old yellow pages, however, there are some camps who know that presenting more information to parents will attract more campers. CampEasy’s goal is to help parents and camps find one another online, and ultimately to allow more kids to experience the rewards of the camp. Some camps have opted to subscribe to CampEasy, and have been provided a larger “tile” in the search results.
Q: Why am I asked to enter my childrens’ ages AND their birthdates?
Camps differ on how they determine age eligibility; some use grades and others use kids’ dates of birth. We want to present parents with accurate information on ALL of the camp options for which their children may be eligible and interested; if parents enter only the grades of their children, only camps that determine eligibility using grades will be presented. The same is true for age, although we recommend parents to investigate camps’ specific (and highly idiosyncratic) cut-off dates in order to verify eligibility.
Q: I have a particular camp in mind for my child but it does not appear in the search results. Why?
There could be a few reasons for this. 1) The camp may not yet be in our database; if you suggest a camp to us and the current session information (times/dates) is available, we will try to post the information within 48 hours, 2) the camp’s current session information is not yet available, or 3) your preferences have excluded this camp for your search results. In this case you can widen your preferences by location, time, cost and interests and the camp may appear. If you continue to have difficulty, please contact us.
Q: Why do Destination Camps override my selected filters?
Destination Camps are a special category of sleepaway camps, for parents (and campers) who want to learn about unique adventures and learning opportunities they may not have considered before. These camps may be anywhere! They will appear in search results when 1) the camper qualifies by age, 2) the sessions are offered in the selected weeks, and 3) the parent has clicked Destination Camps.
Q: I submitted a rating and review but I do not see them. Why?
At this early stage of CampEasy, only certain camps are eligible to receive ratings and reviews. Please see Terms for more details about our Ratings/Reviews Policy.
FOR CAMP OPERATORS:
Q: How is CampEasy different from online camp directories?
CampEasy is the only resource that presents parents with current camp session information and allows them to search for camps for multiple kids at the same time. Not only that, CampEasy allows parents to save and share their ideal camp schedules with friends, and to export them to a calendar. Parents are more likely to identify their preferred camp options and sign up for them early, because CampEasy provides all of the information they need in one place.
Q: My camp offers literally dozens of sessions at different locations. Is there any alternative to entering the session data manually?
Yes! There are two alternatives. The first is to send us a spreadsheet of your session data, and we can ingest it automatically. The second is to grant us “read-only” access to your camp session database, and we can pull your information into our database that way. Our goal is to make this process as easy for you as possible; please contact us directly so that we can work out the best method.
Q: My camp has sister camps that may or may not want the same Access Level on CampEasy. How do you handle camp families like ours?
We welcome camp families and understand that there are many different kinds of relationships between camps. To the extent that there are camps operating within camps, CampEasy recognizes these as distinct units within the camp family. With one paid subscription, each related camp is eligible for a 50% discount on its own Access Level.
Q: Why am I asked to enter either age range OR grade range for campers?
Camps differ on how they determine age eligibility; some use grades and others use kids’ dates of birth. We want to present parents with accurate information on ALL of the camp options for which their children may be eligible and interested; if we were to implement a conversion system it may be accurate in some districts/counties/states but not in others. On CampEasy, when parents enter only the grades of their children, only camps that determine eligibility using grades will be presented. The same is true for age, although we recommend parents to investigate camps’ specific (and highly idiosyncratic) cut-off dates in order to verify eligibility.
Q: How does a camp subscription to CampEasy work?
CampEasy’s service is offered to camps on a per month subscription basis, and at a discounted annual rate. We currently accept payment via Google Checkout. Authorization to charge your chosen payment method account will remain in effect, and your credit card (or other payment method account) will be automatically charged, until you cancel or modify your subscription preferences, terminate this authorization, or change your selected payment method (provided that such notice will not affect charges submitted before CampEasy could reasonably act. See Terms for more details.
